This is a popular statement of key concepts now current in science and physics. These are mostly simple expressions of other science summaries I have read in recent months, but there were some new ideas.
Chown seems to enjoy presenting far-out ideas like multiple universes, and the proposal that life got started on earth from extra-terrestrial bacteria that rode in on comets. Though this idea might sound weird to someone not familiar with the current trend of theoretical physics, this idea is not as unusual as it might seem!
But how about the idea that this universe was started by a laboratory experiment in starting new universes performed by intelligent beings in another universe. I'm not sure how common this is among physicists.
How can someone who rejects the idea of a single intelligent creator allow for an infinite regression of universes started by an intelligent race of beings in another universe, started by another race of intelligent beings in another universe, ad infinitum?
