Summary Introduction

You may have just stumbled upon this page, so I don't want to bore you with a lot of inanities.  A couple of photos will give you an impression, and you can imagine the rest!  Or check out details on the links here.

I love science, as well as science fiction.  In 1977 I was given the nickname Obiwan, which many people still use.  Over the years I also got used to being called by my initials, OBJ.

I have been involved in radio broadcasting, being the world's youngest DJ when I was 9 years old.  I have been a music, radio, film and television producer, a choir director and band leader (folk rock and jazz).  I play tenor saxophone and guitar and compose songs in various styles.  I have played in various music groups and produced several music albums.

I have worked and taught courses in cross-cultural communication, computing (both hardware and software), comparative linguistics and African cultural history.  I have also taught world religions, Christian history and communications principles.  I have lived with my wife Edith in Kenya, Cyprus and the USA, and taught in Canada, UK, and many countries of Africa.

I have been editor of journals and newsletters in cross-cultural communication, computing and language learning, and published books on several topics.

Well, enough of that.  Suffice it to say, I find life exciting, challenging, puzzling and intriguing.  In the end each of us is only a small part of the cosmos, and I acknowledge God as the Creator and purpose-giver.

I enjoy life and have a lot of fun, because I live by faith.  I seek truth from all sources, since there is one ultimate source of truth.  There is beauty and mystery in the universe and there is joy in discovery and appreciation, which balances the disappointment and heartache which is life.
